The Jaffrey Betterment Trust is a successsor, of sorts, to the Terra Nova Trust—a donor-advised fund of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation—which was terminated in late 2023, its assets being transferred to a new trust fund administered by the Trustees of Trust Funds of the Town of Jafffey.
Its purposes are similar to those of Terra Nova Trust but its focus is entirely on Jaffrey and grants may only be made to projects and initiatives within the town of Jaffrey.
The Jaffrey Betterment Trust was accepted by Resolution of the Jaffrey Board of Selectmen on August 28, 2023.
The Trust Document establishing the Jaffrey Betterment Trust was created on August 2, 2023, approved by the Fund Advisors and founders of the Terra Nova Trust, Christopher V. Bean and Robert B. Stephenson.
On August 29, 2023, the following e-mail was sent to those who will be appointing members to the Jaffrey Betterment Trust Committee.

SUPPORTING THE JAFFREY BETTERMENT TRUST: The Jaffrey Betterment Trust Committee and the Town of Jaffrey welcome donations to the Trust and the inclusion of Bequests favoring the Trust in the estate plans of friends and residents of Jaffrey. Checks may be made out to "Jaffrey Trustees of Trust Funds" with "Jaffrey Betterment Trust" in the memo line. All donations are tax deductible the fullest extent of the law.
