This is a work in progress. Eventually all Meeting Notices up through Meeting 882 (May 19, 2020) will be included (but none after that).

Images of Notices below are from various sources: Loose notices as printed and issued; Notices as attached to the Secretary's Minutes (in Box 03); early Meeting Notices from Scrapbooks (in Box 05a).

At some point the Report of the Nominating Committee was included in Notice 7, i.e. the notice proceeding the Annual Meeting in May. Typically this was a 4-page folded notice, one page constituting the Notice, one page with the slate and two blank pages. In some instances below only the Meeting Notice is included with the slate excluded.

NOTE: Some Notices are listed as "missing" below. Some years back some Club records were donated to the Harvard University Archives. See https://www.rs41.org/HTC/archives.htm Listed there are some of those listed below as missing: "1906-30 (some could be missing). 1931-1950 most recent, some could be missing."

Historical Overview of Meeting Notices

In the early years of the Club notices were postcard-size (and were perhaps mailed as such).


With the Notice for Meeting 037 (October 15, 1907), the Club Seal was added at the top.


The first long Notice with the Club Seal on top and resembling the Notice for more than the next 100 years appeared for Meeting 044 on April 24, 1908.


Over the years the Notice was updated from time-to-time. The Meeting number within the season was added in the top right beginning with the November 25, 1930 Notice:


The Meeting number originally appeared on Notices but for some reason was dropped sometime after Meeting 111 (December 26, 1916) and not added again until the meeting held on October 10, 1961, Meeting Number 415. The Meeting Number has appeared at the upper left on Notices ever since.


The last printed notice of the traditional format appeared for Meeting 830 on May 21, 2013. (Beginning with Meeting 823, the Notices were issued on 8-1/2x11 inch sheets although the design was essentially the same as the half-size versions. This format was used until Meeting 830, May 21, 2013.)


Beginning with Notice 831 (October 8, 2013), Notices were sent out by e-mail and included in most cases color photographs. The format changed frequently from then on to the present. (NOTE: In the Archives there are printed notices for Meetings 831 and 832 that are on cream paper and show tri-fold creases indicating that they may have been mailed. On the other hand, there are e-mails from the Secretary—Suzanne Lyons—that include pdf attachments of these notices.)
(Further NOTE: The Nominations dated April 30, 2014, and Notice 838 are also on cream paper with tri-fold creases suggesting having been mailed. An e-mail with this as a pdf attachment was also sent out.)
